APR Open House Event
A little rain couldn't dampen the spirits at All Printing Resources' Open House Event yesterday. A solid turnout of supplier partners and printer/converters was treated to food, beverages, facility tours, live demonstrations of the Gallus "Rock" press, and some excellent technical presentations on improving pressroom productivity. Mike Huey from Harper Corp. of America spoke on the importance of standardization to lowering costs, improving equipment utilization, reducing waste and enhancing productivity. Bobby Furr from Max Daetwyler Corp. talked about proper blade selection and installation to insure print quality, as well as the ramifications of improper end seal fit and contour to blade life, ink doctoring and anilox wear & damage. APR's Tim Reece followed up with a terrific presentation on reducing gear marks and plate bounce through careful analysis and measurement of press components followed by corrective actions. Today's presentations focus on prepress, plate and color issues that impact productivity. Be sure to get to APR today to take part in these valuable learning and networking opportunities. Presentations start at 1PM. Get there early to check out the press demo's. Don't forget to enter the drawing for the Ipad2. Don't miss it!
